Recycling wind turbine blades start with cutting

Large circular saws, held by excavators, are perfect for cutting through the structure of wind turbine blades

February 2017 Echidna D4HS high speed excavator saw was used on a 20 tonne excavator for cutting baking ovens from cement works in South Germany.

The ovens have an outer layer of 15mm steel + 100mm of cast iron underneath - very difficult to cut, but made possible with 270kW power limit and 4500 rpm saw from Echidna.
